The watch manufactory "Molniya" was founded in 1947 and today "Molniya" unites the best Russian watchmakers. The company's mission is aimed at the production of high-precision watch instruments and mechanisms. Lightning watches are a symbol of reliability, accuracy and impeccable reputation. Molniya chronographs, designed for aeronautics, withstand extreme temperatures and loads and have been working flawlessly for decades to the glory of the Russian aircraft industry.

The history of the plant and the watches it produces is rooted in the history of the American factory "Dubert-Hampden" and the history of the creation of the 1st Moscow Watch Factory.

In 1929, in America, the Soviet trade mission Amtorg acquired two bankrupt watch factories - Duber-Hampden from Canton (Ohio), which produced pocket and wristwatches, and Ansonia from New York, which produced alarm clocks and wall clocks. These two enterprises became the basis for the 1st and 2nd State Watch Factories of the Precision Mechanics Trust in Moscow, which already in 1930-1931 began production of the first Soviet watches.
